How can I book a session?
You are welcome to enquire about services via the chat box in the bottom right of the screen, by completing a contact form on the website or by emailing juliet@inneraxis.co.za directly. Once your enquiry is received, you will be contacted to clarify your needs, determine suitability, and discuss next steps. This ensures that the service pathway recommended is appropriate and aligned with your goals.
What is your approach to wellness?
Our approach integrates emotional insight, reflective capacity, behavioural skill development, and structured goal orientation. We focus on strengthening resilience, emotional regulation, psychological flexibility, and sustainable coping strategies that support long-term growth and overall well-being. All work is evidence-informed, ethically guided, and delivered within a structured, non-clinical scope of practice.
Are sessions offered in person or online?
All sessions are currently offered online only, allowing for flexible and accessible support regardless of location.
Is Wellness Counselling the same as therapy or psychotherapy?
No. Inner Axis does not offer psychotherapy, diagnosis, or treatment of mental illness. Wellness counselling is a structured, non-clinical service focused on personal development, emotional insight, coping strategies, and life navigation. Where concerns fall outside this scope, appropriate referrals to registered healthcare professionals (e.g., psychologists, psychiatrists, medical practitioners) will be provided.
Who is this service suitable for?
Wellness counselling is suitable for adults seeking structured support with life transition, stress, burnout, identity development, relationship challenges, and personal growth. Academic support and mentorship services are designed specifically for psychology and related field students or early-career helping professionals seeking structured academic and professional guidance. Inner Axis is particularly suited to individuals motivated to engage in reflective, growth-oriented work within a professional framework. For more information on services, please see our Services page.
Are sessions covered by medical aid?
Services at Inner Axis are not claimable from medical aid. As a Specialist Wellness Counsellor (ASCHP), services are delivered within a non-clinical framework and therefore fall outside medical aid reimbursement structures.
Do you provide crisis support?
Inner Axis does not provide emergency or crisis intervention services. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact your nearest emergency service provider or a registered healthcare professional immediately.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session focuses on understanding your current challenges, goals and context. We will explore what has brought you to seek support, clarify expectations and goals, and outline a structured plan moving forward where appropriate. Sessions are collaborative, reflective, and goal-oriented. No diagnosis or clinical assessment is conducted, as services are delivered within a non-clinical scope of practice.
How is Inner Axis different from therapy or coaching?
Inner Axis operates within a structured, evidence-informed, non-clinical framework that integrates elements of psychological development, reflective practice, and practical skill-building. Unlike psychotherapy, services do not include diagnosis or treatment of mental illness. Unlike informal coaching, services are grounded in formal psychological training and ethical standards under the ASCHP scope of practice. The focus is on sustainable personal and professional development within clear professional boundaries.
